The Farm at the End of the World

Surajmukhi lives alone on a farm with her father. Nothing ever changes on the farm and no one ever comes to visit. Once, there was a third: Brother. Surajmukhi tries not to think about that, or about what she let their father do to him.

Every day, Surajmukhi hews the longrass and tends the book in which her father's creations dwell, conscious of the void that exists beyond the treeline that marks the boundary of their farm, and lost inside her daydreams.

But change comes for us all, and on the day a girl named White walks out of the lightning, Surajmukhi learns her reality is much less immutable than she ever imagined.

Not everything that's predetermined comes to pass.
